Our story
Our love of premium coffee began in Europe, where cafés offered a window into local life and warm conversation. What started as casual stops soon became a quest for the perfect espresso, a respect for baristas crafting classic lattes, and a growing passion for the rich, bold character of dark roast coffee.
After lingering in Europe's countless sidewalk cafés, an educational business trip to Seattle, Washington, opened our eyes to the science of coffee roasting and brewing. Experimentation and handcrafting soon became our passion, transforming home brewing into a more thoughtful and artistic craft.
Focusing on dark roasts that tend to peak at 28% development, a market niche was discovered, and full-bodied coffee became the hallmark of Roast28. We savor our relationships with artisanal roasters who are experts at preserving the dark chocolatey and nutty flavors only found after roasting into the second crack.
When we founded Roast28, we deepened our commitment to supporting local and global communities. Discovering the impact of ethically sourced beans, international co-ops, and sustainable farming inspired us to offer only USDA Organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee.

Our roasters
Roast28's roasters operate an award-winning custom roastery with 45 years of experience. Family-owned and operated since 1976, our roasters are an award-winning "Green Business" and artisan custom coffee roasting house. Recognized and honored for exceptional coffee, a commitment to good citizenry, and sustainable business practices, our talented roasting team continues to set the standard in the industry.
